Baggage

Checked Baggage
Baggage

International Flights

Air Canada and other international carriers allow each passenger to bring along two pieces of luggage on transatlantic flights, which are carried in the baggage compartment of the aircraft at no charge. This is know as the free checked baggage allowance. The overall measurement of each piece must be 62 inches or 158 centimeters, and the weight must be less than 70 lbs. Passengers whose baggage weighs more or exceeds these limits will have to pay an additional amount at the airport prior to travel.

Baggage

Chartered Flights

The Chartered airlines offering discounted tickets allow less allowances for checked baggage. Air Transat, Royal Air normally allow the following baggage allowance free of charge:
baggage weighing no more than 20 Kg (44 lbs). For a baggage which weighs more than 20 Kg (44 lbs) will be charged an additional $5/Kg or more, at the time of check in.

Person travelling on chartered flights must check directly with the chartered airlines regarding baggage allowance rules enforced at the time of travel.

Carry-On Baggage
Baggage

International Flights

IATA has developed a recommended practice for carry-on baggage which it hopes will reduce the problems faced by airlines and passengers.

The guidelines suggest that carriers consider weight only as one element, in addiition to size as part of the carry-on allowance. The widely used maximum carry-on baggage total dimension of 115 centimeters would remain, however IATA recommends specific maximum dimension of: Length: 55cm, Width:40cm, Depth:23cm. The maximum weight of the carry-on bag should not exceed 10 Kg.

Baggage

Chartered Flights

Passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage, which must nto exceed 5 kg. in weight or (23cm x 40cm x 51cm in size). Any article of baggage that exceeds either od these limits must be checked.

Person travelling on chartered flights must check directly with the chartered airlines regarding baggage allowance rules enforced at the time of travel.
